1990 Trust
The 1990 Trust promotes the interests of Britain's Black communities, lobbying
policy makers and encouraging the development of Black community networks.
BLINK is the 1990 Trust's independent community interactive site for the
black communities.
Black Londoners Forum
The Forum works to advance the economic, cultural and social well being
of Black and Ethnic Minority Londoners by engaging with Black Londoners
and key agencies and institutions.
Black Police Association
A nationwide organization of African, American Police Associations dedicated
to the promotion of justice, fairness, and effectiveness in law enforcement.
National Coalition of Black-Led Organisations
Provide a collective voice, nationally and internationally on issues that
impact on Black people.
Operation Black Vote
OBV is a non-party political campaign, supported by a broad coalition of
mainly Black organisations, working to redress the Black democratic deficit
in the UK.
Policy Research Institute on Aging and Ethnicity
PRIAE undertakes research, develops policy, and produces infromation to

Association
The Immigration Law Practitioners' Association was established to promote
and improve the advising and representation of immigrants; provide information

Joint Council for the welfare of immigrants
The JCWI provides free help for thousands of families and individuals in
desperate need and works to influence the major debates on immigration
and asylum in the UK.
Migrant Resource Centre
Migrant Resource Centre works with migrants and refugees and in partnership
with other agencies, to effect social justice and change, enabling migrants
and refugees to fully participate in this society.
Immigration and Nationality Directorate
The Directorate is the part of the Home Office for Immigration control.
It considers applications for permission to stay, citizenship and asylum.
Oxfam
Oxfam works with others to challenge negative and inflammatory reporting
of asylum issues; to generate positive images of asylum seekers and to

The Refugee Council is the largest organisation in the UK working with
asylum seekers and refugees. It provides direct help and support and works

STAR (Student Action for Refugees)

Strangers into Citizens is a an alliance of faith and community

Jay was killed by a gang in Brighton and the family fight for justice.

The 10-year-old who committed suicide in 2001 following two years of sustained
racial harassment from two teachers.
Mal Hussein
Mal Hussein and Linda Livingstone have been the target of sustained and
brutal race hatred in Lancaster.
Mikey Powell Campaign for Justice
Fights for justice for Mikey, and shares in the grief and struggle of other
families that have lost loved ones in Police custody.
Roger Sylvester Justice Campaign
Roger was restrained by eight police officers, sustained numerous injuries.
Seven days later, he was dead.
Stephen Lawrence
Teenager Stephen Lawrence was murdered in a racist attack in South London
in 1993. A wide-ranging inquiry into his death was held in 1998 which found
the police force guilty of institutional racism.
United Friends and Families
A coalition of families and friends of those that have died in the custody
of police, prisons, and psychiatric hospital.
Zahid Mubarek
Zahid Mubarek was an Asian teenager who was brutally murdered by his cellmate
on March 21, 2000, at the Feltham Young Offenders' Institution in southwest
London. The subsequent inquiry into his death and the issues surrounding
it was highly critical of failings at the Institution.
